Brent Burns at Mango Republic – 10/30/2022
Brent Burns is coming back to the Mango Republic!!
When: Sunday, October 30th Time: PLEASE NOTE: TIMES ARE EARLIER THAN USUAL. We will be starting back with a POTLUCK meet, greet, find a seat from 12 – 1.
The concert is from 1 – 3.
Brent had such a great time at the Mango last year, that he was “inked in” days later in Key West for a comeback concert here this year. This will be his last stop on his Karavan to the Keys for Meeting of the Minds in Key West. So, if you can’t make it to Key West this year, be sure to come October 30th to get just a taste of what’s happening at the Southernmost Point.
If you’re not familiar with Brent’s music, GREAT!! Be sure to check out his web page at www.brentburns.com. There you will be able to listen to snippets of many of his songs. His music is VERY unique! Remember those comedic musicians of yore? Well, Brent is even funnier! His music will have you laughing so hard! If you leave the Mango and your face isn’t sore from laughing, then you weren’t paying attention! I put a link to one of his songs, Jim Cantore, on the Mango Republic Facebook page. If you haven’t heard it, do yourself a favor and listen to it as soon as you can!
Here is just a smidge about Brent. He arrived at his new home in Gulf Shores, Alabama in 1972. Soon after his arrival Brent became the poet laureate of the beach. In 2006, Burns was named “Official Music Ambassador of the Alabama Gulf Coast Convention and Visitors Bureau”. In 2008, Brent won three awards in the first ever Trop Rock Music Awards (TRMA). Burns won “Entertainer of the Year,” “CD of the Year (for “Ragtops and Flip Flops”)” and a special WAVE award for his charitable work. Last year Brent won the TRMA “Lifetime Achievement” award as well as the award for Album of the Year (for “My Jukebox on the Beach.”) A twice wounded Purple Heart combat veteran, Burns also has the distinction of being the first American entertainer to perform for troops overseas after the tragedy of September 11, 2001. Burns’ musical career has taken him to Italy, Australia, Scotland, Czech Republic, Ireland, Paris and coast to coast in the US. His songs can be heard on Sirius Radio’s Radio Margaritaville. Nothing but the BEST at the Mango Republic!!
If you haven’t done so already, PLEASE RSVP to mangorepublic501@gmail.com to reserve your spot and learn the particulars. If you haven’t been to a concert in a while, this will be such a fun one to attend. After all, we could all use some more laughs in our lives right now.
