PHCF 2021 PHlockings
On January 15th we had our PHirst PHlocking of 2021 at Fish on Fire. It was a small but Phun crowd and we enjoyed the music of John MacDonald and catching up with Phriends. We Partied with a Purpose with a Raffle Table supporting our Sea Oats Planting on January 30th.
To give our PHCF community a little more time to get vaccinated and comfortable being out, we decided to skip the February Phlocking and planned on seeing everyone again in March. But the COVID numbers didn’t improve as much as we’d have liked so we skipped our March PHlocking and looked forward to an April Birthday PHlocking.
On April 17th the PHlock came up to Altamonte Springs to our President’s Home for our April PHlocking and to celebrate the 29th Birthday of the Parrot Heads of Central Florida. PHCF supplied pulled pork and pizza and the PHlock provided everything else. A raffle, a 50/50 and, to make this a Party with a Purpose, we supported The Foundation for Foster Children with our Lucky Stars. Did PHolks have a good time? We think these PHolks look happy.
For our June PHirst PHriday PHlocking on PHriday, June 4th, we changed our starting and ending times (6:30 and 9:30) and returned to Kiwi’s in Altamonte Springs. Twenty-four PHlockers showed up to Party With A Purpose listening to the music of Teddy V and supported the Russell Home with our Raffle and The Orlando Fisher House with our Lucky Stars.
For our July 2nd PHlocking we tried a new location to give PHlockers on the West side of town a friendlier location – Friendly Confines in Metro West. Again, twenty-four PHlockers showed up to Party With A Purpose listening to the music of PHlock PHavorite Jimi Pappas. This month our Raffle supported CoralRestoration.org and our Lucky Stars sent food and cash to the Osceola County Council on Aging Food Pantry.
Our August PHlocking remained in Friendly Confines but with COVID numbers rising this was the smallest PHlocking we’ve had in a long time. Eight PHlockers listened to Radio Margaritaville and supported Juvenile Diabetes with our Raffle and Tools for Schools (Seminole County) with our Lucky Stars.
With COVID numbers surging in Florida we took a break and had no September PHlocking.
For our October PHlocking, 19 PHlockers returned to Kiwi’s to listen to the music of Teddy V. We tried something new letting the PHolks participating in our raffle to decide who would benefit. The raffle ended up going to Orlando Mission.
