Give Kids the World – Adopt-a-Villa
Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) is a 70-acre, non-profit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life threatening illnesses and their families. GKTW provides accommodations at its whimsical resort, donated attractions tickets, meals and more for a week-long, cost-free fantasy vacation. With the help of many generous individuals, corporations and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids The World has welcomed more than 75,000 families from all 50 states and over 50 countries.
PHCF has adopted two villas where Wish families stay when they are visiting Orlando. This means that 2 or 3 times per year, we will spend a half day working to maintain, clean, and repair anything that needs to be done at our adopted Villa. We hope you can join us to maintain the villa at the highest level of quality and cleanliness possible and to help GKTW reduce their operating costs.
An Adopt A Villa volunteer day will typically start about 8:00am and continue until about noon. We will provide lunch for all volunteers. During lunch, GKTW will show us a video and talk about the mission of the charity, and then there will be a tour available for those who haven’t seen the Village before and anyone who wants to see all of the new and exciting things going on there!
The Village is located at 210 S. Bass Road, Kissimmee, FL 34746. Please invite your significant other, family members, and friends. The more, the merrier. This is a great activity for kids who are old enough to help with the work, and they can receive community service hours for their time. Please note that there are no babysitting services available for the very young children.
