Council of Pheathers Meeting
In Attendance:
President Jim Burk, Vice President Scott Lance, Treasurer Colene Clark, Membership Officer Mary Libbey, Keeper of the Phlock Connie Caines, Membership Advocates Jackie Dorsey, Norbert Comacho and Paul Fraas, Jim Thomas, Jim VanPelt, Lisa Schott, George Schott, Ed Langston, Jayne Langston, Joe DiLuzio, Shelley Branthoover, Josh Ramsteck, John
CALL TO ORDER:
Meeting was called to order by Jim Burk at 7:00pm.
SECRETARY’S REPORT:
No report this month
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Colene Clark reported that we have $12,105.48 in our overall account. Much of this money is for FITA and the Christmas party. Overall we have $4,215.04. A motion was made by Scott Lance to accept the report and is was seconded by Jim Thomas and the motion was passed unanimously.
MEMBERSHIP OFFICER’S REPORT:
Mary Libbey reported that we have 370 members – (an increse of 7 since last report) and 188 memberships. Renewals are slow. Jason Webb wants to pay for his membership instead of a complimentary membership. Chris Glover is a no response to his complimentary membership. Colene Clark made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Connie Caines and the motion passed unanimously.
KEEPER OF THE PHLOCK REPORT:
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Scott Lance reported that we sent in our service hours to PHIP. A motion was made by Connie Caines to accept the report and it was seconded by Colene Clark and the motion passed unanimously.
MEMBERSHIP ADVOCATE’S REPORT:
No requests for assistance this month were reported. Connie Caines made a motion to accept the report and Jim Thomas seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously.
EXECUTIVE OFFICER’S REPORT:
No report this month.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Jim Burk thanked the outgoing officers and introduced the new officers. A motion was made by Mary Libbey to accept the report and it was seconded by Connie Caines and the motion was passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS:
ELECTION REPORT:
Jim Thomas recapped the elections. Did we have enough time to vote? ClubSpaces has elections capabilities built in as an FYI for next year.
CHRISTMAS PARTY RECAP:
Ed Langston provided a written recap to the Council for review.
FITA UPDATE:
George and Lisa Schott presented a written update to the Council for review.
RELAY UPDATE:
No update this month
JINGLE BELL RUN RECAP:
Colene Clark reported that she has the Club flag and Banner. Mary Libbey has another flag. Looking for the 2 tents.
POKER TOURNAMENT UPDATE:
Paul Fraas reported that he wants 100 people for the event. Needs 10 sponsors @$100.
NEW BUSINESS:
GKTW QUARTERLY SERVICE:
Colene Clark has offered to become the new Chair Parrot for this event.
MCWELL’S UPDATE:
Council discussed McWell’s lowering their contribution to pay the band to $50. Council agreed at this time to make up the difference.
TOUR FOR THE CURE BIKE RIDE:
Jim VanPelt reported that this event takes place on February 28th at Lake Nona. He asked the Council if we wanted to host a “Club Water Stop.” Jim will be the Chair Parrot for this event.
RAFFLE PHUNDS:
Raffle proceeds for January will go to the Arthritis Foundation. Raffle proceeds for February will be donated to American Diabetes Assn. Motion to approve made by Colene Clark and seconded by Scott Lance and apporoved unanimously. March proceeds will go to The Russell Home. Motion was made by Scott Lance and seconded by Colene Clark and approved unanimously.
A motion was made by Colene Clark to adjourn the meeting and it was seconded by Scott Lance and the meeting was adjourned at 9:15pm.
