Council of Pheathers Meeting

IN ATTENDANCE:
President Lisa Schott, Vice President Bruce Broulik, Secretary Laurie Ramsteck, Membership Occifer Amy Buchanan, Communications Occifer Mary Libbey, Keeper of the Phlock Tammy Esser, Treasurer Suzanne Templin, Executive Officer Jackey Dorsey, Member Advocates Paul Fraas, Norbert Comacho and Joe DiLuzio, Past Presidents Jim Thomas and Jim VanPelt, Josh Ramsteck, Chuck Esser, Terry Clark, Warren Monyelle, Pat Monyelle, Gary Einstein, Sonia Bayne

CALL TO ORDER:
Lisa Schott called the meeting to order at 7:05pm.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Laurie Ramsteck thanked Bruce Broulik for taking the minutes in August. Mary Libbey has been getting all of the minutes on the website. Laurie reviewed and approved the September bank statement. Jackie Dorsey made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Mary Libbey and the motion passed unanimously.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Suzanne Templin reviewed her report. The Club has $4,402.10 in our overall account. Jim Thomas made a motion to approve the report and it was seconded by Laurie Ramsteck and the motion was passed unanimously.

KEEPER OF THE PHLOCK REPORT:
Tammy Esser thanked everyone for handling the Phlockings in her absence. Tammy reported that Jim and Suzanne Thomas will handle the Lucky Stars (food drive) for October. Captain Josh will be our entertainment and the money from the raffle table will go towards the Club Christmas party. Jim Thomas made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Jackie Dorsey and the motion was passed unanimously.

COMMUNICATIONS OCCIFER’S REPORT:
Mary Libbey reported that our new website is up and running. Thank you Mary for all of your hard work!!! We do have a few issues with the website regarding sending e-mails but Mary is working on it. Also, we need to have a P.O. Box address attached to our account. Mary and Amy Buchanan will work on setting up an account. A motion was made by Jim Thomas to approve up the $60/year to cover the cost of maintaining a P.O. Box. The motion was seconded by Mary Laurie Ramsteck and the motion was passed unanimously. Jackie Dorsey made a motion to approve the report and it was seconded by Jim Thomas and the motion was passed unanimously.

MEMBERSHIP OCCIFER’S REPORT:
Amy Buchanan reported that we had around 55 people at the last Phlocking. Our Club has 387 members and 200 memberships. Council discussed the definition of keets as it applies to family memberships. Council agreed that keets are defined as under 18 years of age. Amy will be enforcing this policy. Laurie Ramsteck made a motion to approve the report and it was seconded by Suzanne Templin and the motion was passed unanimously.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Bruce Broulik reported that our last Give Kids the World event was a success. There were 28 volunteers from our Club. Bruce will set up another event probably in November. He will keep us informed. Jackie Dorsey made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Tammy Esser and the motion was passed unanimously.

EXECUTIVE OFFIGER’S REPORT:
Jackie Dorsey stated that she is still in search of our Club assets. A motion was made by Mary Libbey to accept the report and it was seconded by Amy Buchanan and the motion was passed unanimously.

MEMBER ADVOCATE’S REPORT:
No issues or concerns were reported.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Lisa Schott reported our next FITA meeting will be on October 16th from 4p-5p. The meeting will be at the Altamonte Springs bowling lanes. There will be open bowling after the meeting from 5p-8p. There will be $1.00 games, $1.00 shoes, $1.00 beers and $1.00 wine specials.
Lisa reported that she will not be able to attend the October Council meeeting. It was decided to keep the date the same as long as we have a quorum. Bruce Broulik made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Jackie Dorsey and the motion was passed unanimously.

OLD BIDNESS:

FALL PICNIC UPDATE:
Tammy Esser reported that the Picnic will be at Kelly Park in Apopka on October 23rd. An e-mail will be sent out to the Club with details.

CHRISTMAS PARTY UPDATE:
Tammy Esser and Warren Monyelle reviewed the Christmas party details. A motion was made by Suzanne Templin for the Club to spend up to $1,500.00 for the Christmas Party. Jackie Dorsey seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously.

NEW BIDNESS:

PHIP ELECTIONS:
Council reviewed the candidates running for President and Secretary and also some amended bylaws. Council discussed and will vote accordingly.

CLUB BANNERS:
Paul Fraas brought up the idea of a Club banner that would fit on a door so our Club could be recognized at out of town events. Council will not pursue at this time.

JINGLE BELL RUN:
Mary Libbey reported that there is still room for more team members and scratch off tickets are still available.

PLANNING/GENERAL MEETING:
Jim VanPelt offered his home to host our Annual Planning/General meeting. Council chose the date of November 20th. More details to follow.

SECOND SATURDAY SOCIAL:
Gary Einstein reminded the Council that the next social will be September 24th at Legends. Mary Libbey will send out a reminder to the Club.

A motion to adjourn was made by Amy Buchanan and it was seconded by Suzanne Templin and the motion was passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:38pm.
