Council of Pheathers Meeting

IN ATTENDANCE:

CALL TO ORDER:
Lisa Schott called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Laurie Ramsteck reported that Augusts’ minutes were sent out for review and posted to our website. The bank statements were reviewed and approved. Colene Clark made a motion to approve the report and it was seconded by Jim VanPelt and the motion was approved unanimously.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Colene Clark reported that we have $3,399.01 in our overall account. Council discussed a banking issue and Colene will follow up. Laurie Ramsteck made a motion to approve the report and it was seconded by Jim Thomas and the motion was passed unanimously.

MEMBERSHIP OCCIFER’S REPORT:
Mary Libbey reported that we now have 411 members!! Jim Thomas made a motion to approve the report and it was seconded by Joe DiLuzio and the motion was passed unanimously.

KEEPER OF THE PHLOCK REPORT:
Tammy Esser reported that our Club fall picnic will be October 10th at Warren Park starting at 11am. We will also have our General Meeting then. Jeff Dubey made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Mary Libbey and the motion was passed unanimously.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
No report this month

EXECUTIVE OCCIFER’S REPORT:
Joe DiLuzio reported that raffles are going well. He has a list of club assets and has located most of it.

MEMBERSHIP ADVOCATE’S REPORT:
No report this month

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Lisa Schott reported that if anyone has any ideas for the General Meeting, please let her know. Lisa will contact Margaritaville Foods promo person to see if we can get some products for the picnic. Norbert Comacho’s Halloween party has been moved from Friday, October 29th to October 30th at his home. Last Supper will be on October 29th. We have our Bonding Insurance for 3 years. Jim Thomas made a motion to approve the report and it was seconded by Laurie Ramsteck and the motion was passed unanimously.

OLD BIDNESS:

MUD VOLLEYBALL RESULTS AND DONATION:
Jeff Dubey reported that we have 60 participants. March of Dimes was very pleased with our efforts. The event has raised $146,000 so far with more coming in. $2,348.00 was donated from our club for the beer.

FLORIDA LEADERS CONFERENCE REPORT:
Jim VanPelt reported that the conference went very well. There were 70+ attendees. Jim noted several of the seminars that were informative. The President and Vice President of PHIP were also in attendance.

NOVEMBER REUNION PHLOCKING:
Lisa Schott asked for volunteers to contact past members and invite them to this event. The charity to receive proceeds from this event will be decided at the October Council meeting. Discussed the raffle table. We will have 3 or 4 big items to bid on and see if this works for us. Also, we will be requesting members to bring in an old photo of them and have members guess who is who.

BY-LAWS UPDATE:
Lisa Schott presented an updated/revised version of our By-Laws for the Council to review. Changes are an added Council position of Communications Officer and a change to the Terms of Office verbiage. Council will review. By-law revisions will be finalized at the October Council meeting and then sent to the membership for ratification by electronic vote.

NEW BIDNESS:

CHRISTMAS PARTY:
Ed Langston reported that the party will be December 11th at the Elks Club again. The entertainment this year will be DeciBel.   We have put a deposit down. The price of food has increased this year. Council discussed the per person price and decided on $25.00 for members and $35.00 for non-members. A motion was made by Colene Clark to approve the price and it was seconded by Jim Thomas and the motion was passed unanimously.

PAYMENT OF ENTERTAINERS AT PHLOCKINGS:
Laurie Ramsteck discussed that our Club should pay the monthly entertainers with a Club check and the check from McWell’s together. Entertainers should not have to go in search of their pay. Colene will be the main contact for this and Tammy will be the back up person.

OCTOBER PHLOCKING:
Tammy Esser reported that the raffle table will be run by Lou & Pat Perkins and the monies collected will go to ACS, Lucky Stars will be a food drive. Jim and Suzanne Thomas will handle. Entertainment is Capt. Josh.

FALL CLUB PICNIC:
This item was discussed earlier in the meeting. October 10th at Warren Park. Tammy Esser requested $300 for the picnic. Mary Libbey made the motion for the Club to provide $300 for picnic food and supplies. Colene Clark seconded by motion and it was passed unanimously.

MOTM CLUB PARTY:
Laurie Ramsteck reported that the party is all set for Thursday, November 4th at Dante’s from 4pm-8pm.   We will do a 50/50 raffle and will have raffle baskets. Anyone who would like to donate any items for the raffle please let Laurie know. We will need a few volunteers to help. Laurie made a motion for $300.00 to pay the entertainment. Colene Clark seconded the motion and the motion passed with Jeff Dubey opposing. Jeff would like to see if Dante’s would pay for part of the entertainment fee. Lisa Schott to follow up with a phone call.
Laurie also requested an additional $50 for the party to add to some of the raffle baskets and party supplies. Tammy Esser made the motion for the club to pay $50 for raffle and party supplies. Jim VanPelt seconded the motion and it was approved unanimously.

PHIP OFFICER ELECTIONS:
Lisa Schott presented the Council the resumes of the people who are running. Council discussed and voted.

FITA UPDATE:
Lisa Schott reported that the Committee had their second meeting. We have added a 3rd day of music. The musical lineup is Jim Morris and the Big Bamboo Band, Capt. Josh, Jack Mosley Band, Jimi Pappas.

OPEN BOWLING NIGHT FOR CLUB:
We have an open bowling night on November 14th. The bowling lane is providing $1.00 games, $1.00 beers and $1.00 shoes.

PHCF is currently the #1 team for the Jingle Bell Run

OTHER:
Capt. Josh and Laurie still have some 3 day passes available for Tropstock is anyone is interested. The price is $25 (normally $50).

We will have a CD Release party for Capt. Josh’s new CD at the October PHlocking!

A motion was made to adjourn by Jeff Dubey and it was seconded by Laurie Ramsteck and the meeting adjourned at 9:03pm.
