Council of Pheathers Meeting

IN ATTENDANCE: President Lisa Schott, Vice President Scott Lance, Secretary Laurie Ramsteck, Treasurer Colene Clark, Membership Officer Mary Libbey, Keeper of the Phlock Shelley Branthoover, Member Advocates, Jackie Dorsey, Paul Fraas and Norbert Comacho, Jeff Dubey, Jim Thomas, Mary Hutchinson, Bill Hutchinson, Josh Ramsteck, Terry Clark. Lydia Schmidt, Edi Meadows, Cal Hitchcock, George Schott, Chuck Esser, Terry Harrington, Pat Harrington, John Crabtree

CALL TO ORDER:
Meeting was called to order at 7:01pm

SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Laurie Ramsteck reported that the minutes for December were done but missing some information. Will be out shortly. Jeff Dubey made a motion to accept the report and was seconded by Colene Clark and the motion was passed unanimously.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Colene Clark reported that we have $20,474.87 in our overall account. Much of this amount is for FITA and concert tickets. Mary Libbey made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Jim Thomas and the motion was passed unanimously.

MEMBERSHIP OFFICER’S REPORT:
Mary Libbey reported that we have 292 members with about 15 promised renewals but not money yet. We had about a 25% drop off due to non renewals. Mary updated the complimentary/honorary membership list. Jim Thomas made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Colene Clark and the motion was passed unanimously.

KEEPER OF THE PHLOCK REPORT:
Shelley Branthoover reported that we made $186 from January raffles minus $50 for the band for a total of $136. The entertainment for February will be Jason Webb. Shelley requested the numbers for the Disney Marathon so she can record them. Jim Thomas made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Laurie Ramsteck and the motion was passed unanimously.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Scott Lance did not have a report this month.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER’S REPORT:
No report this month

MEMBERSHIP ADVOCATE’S REPORT:
MA’s discussed a complaint with the Council. Also, next Phlocking we need to show the Coconut Telegraph suggestion box to our members again.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Welcome Lisa! Nothing to report this month.

OLD BUSINESS:

FITA UPDATE:
George Schott reported that we have SOLD OUT all the lanes for the tournament!!! Way to go! Still want and need non-bowlers to join in the event!!

RELAY FOR LIFE UPDATE:
Tabled for this month

PHLOCK SITE RESEARCH:
Scott Lance will head up a committee that will include George Schott, Josh Ramsteck, Laurie Ramsteck, Colene Clark, Norbert Comacho, Edi Meadows and Joe DiLuzio. A list of criteria will be sent out for the Council to approve.

PHIP REPORT:
Lisa Schott said the report is completed. We just need membership numbers from Mary and a check from Colene to send in to PHIP.

TOUR FOR THE CURE UPDATE:

NEW BUSINESS:

ST. PATTY’S DAY PARADE:
Jim Thomas reported that the date for this event is March 7th. Jim will send out an e-mail for interest. This is also the weekend of the Disney Princess half marathon.

AD BOOK FOR MEMBERS:
Edi Meadows discussed putting together an ad book of services and businesses that our members refer. She will head up this and report back to the council.

MANATEE PICNIC:
Chuck Esser reported that the picnic is February 21st and requested a budget of $400. A motion was made by Jim Thomas to approve a budget of $400 and it was seconded by Colene Clark and the motion was passed unanimously.

FLORIDAZE:
Jeff Dubey reported that the dates for this event are May 7-9. Registration is now open. Jeff also requested a budget of $300 to provide his special “punch” for the event. Scott Lance made a motion to approve the amount of $300 and it was seconded by Jim Thomas and the motion was passed unanimously.

A1A BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT:
Jeff Dubey reported that this event is July 16-17. Registration is now open for this event and it sell out quickly.

TAILGATE PARTY/CONCERT TICKETS:
Colene Clark reported that we have sold 129 tickets so far for the February 25th concert. She needs money by this Thursday, Jan. 21st. Jeff Dubey is chairing the Tailgate party and has formed a committee with details to follow at a later date.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Colene Clark and was seconded by Scott Lance and motion was passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:00pm.
