Council of PHeathers Meeting

IN ATTENDANCE:
President Lisa Schott, Vice President Scott Lance, Secretary Laurie Ramsteck, Treasurer Colene Clark, Membership Officer Mary Libbey, Keeper of the Phlock Shelley Branthoover, Executive Officer Joe DiLuzio, Member Advocates Norbert Comacho, Paul Fraas and Jackie Dorsey, Jeff Dubey, Jim VanPelt, Jim Thomas, Lou Perkins, Pat Perkins, Chuck Esser, Edi Meadows, Gregg Templin, Suzanne Templin, John Crabtree

CALL TO ORDER:
Lisa Schott called the meeting to order at 7:02pm.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Laurie Ramsteck reported that the minutes from last month’s meeting were reviewed and posted to the website. Laurie also asked Council’s permission to take the 2007 minutes off the website. We have hard copies of 2007’s minutes. Council agreed. Jeff Dubey made a motion to accept the report and Colene Clark seconded the motion and the motion was passed unanimously.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Colene Clark reported that we have $10, 152.44 in our overall account. Laurie Ramsteck made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Scott Lance and the motion was passed unanimously.

MEMBERSHIP OCCIFER’S REPORT:
Mary Libbey reported that we have 306 members and 164 memberships. We have 4 new memberships. Jeff Dubey made a motion to accept the report and the motion was seconded by Colene Clark and the motion was passed unanimously.

KEEPER OF THE PHLOCK REPORT:
Shelley Branthoover reported that we took in $150 from the raffle table. The band was paid $50 leaving $100 to our charity. The 50/50 took in $118 so $59 was actually made. Capt. Josh is our entertainment for the March Phlocking. Shelley Branthoover submitted a letter of resignation this evening. Council tabled further discussion of a successor until our Executive Officer decides if he will fill the position. We are sorry to see Shelley leave!

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Scott Lance reported that he had updated our Community Service hours and dollar amounts. Scott asked if we count our monthly Lucky Stars and raffle donations to our total numbers. We have not been doing that but Council approved that we start. Jeff Dubey made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Laurie Ramsteck and the motion was approved unanimously.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER’S REPORT:
Joe DiLuzio reported that he needs to find all of our Club assets. It was suggested that he contact our former EO, Nancy Piastuch and see if she has the report. Joe will follow up with an e-mail to the club requesting assistance with the location of our club inventory. Jeff Dubey made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Scott Lance and the motion was passed unanimously.

MEMBER ADVOCATE’S REPORT:
No Club member comments or concerns were received this month. Lou Perkins made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Colene Clark and the motion was passed unanimously.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Lisa Schott reported that our PHIP renewal was completed and accepted. Lisa asked Jim VanPelt if the Tour for the Cure was still happening. We are not participating this year. Lisa mentioned 2 Parrothead events that are coming up – The A1A Beach Volleyball Tournament and the Phins Golf Tournament. They supported our event so we need to support them. Lisa relayed an e-mail that was sent to us from John Frinzi about hosting Keith Sykes for an event in May. Council felt the cost was too expensive. Council had a brief discussion about the Musician schedule and all agreed to it. Jeff Dubey made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Jim VanPelt and the motion was passed unanimously.

OLD BIDNESS:

TAILGATE PARTY UPDATE:
Jeff Dubey reported that we have 173 tickets sold so far. We have collected $3,180. We have covered our costs for the music and food with the ticket sales. There will be a committee meeting tomorrow (Tues) at 7pm.

MANATEE PICNIC UPDATE:
Chuck Esser reported that 60 adults and 12 keets signed up so far. They have spent $130 so far.

POKER TOURNAMENT UPDATE:
Paul Fraas reported that they have sold 10 tickets so far. They have added blackjack this year. He needs so more prizes.

RELAY FOR LIFE UPDATE:
Lou Perkins reported that they will have a wine tasting class again this year for $30/person. The date will be finalized tomorrow. Lou made a motion that the February raffle money go to Relay for Life. Colene Clark seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously.

MUSICIAN’S PAYMENT:
A discussion was made by the Council that the $50 paid to the entertainment will be paid by check and come from our General Fund. Lou Perkins made the motion and it was seconded by Jeff Dubey and the motion was passed unanimously.

FITA FINAL REPORT:
Lisa Schott reported that we raised $15, 018 for the Arthritis Foundation!! Way to go!!

PHLOCKING SITE SEARCH DISCUSSION:
Scott Lance reported that a committee visited a site and they liked it. More people from the committee need to visit the site but it has possibilities.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE:
Jim Thomas reported that we will not participate this year.

PHLOCKING FUNDS DISTRIBUTION:
Council decided that February’s raffle money goes to Relay for Life, March to The Russell Home and April’s to Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge. We will confirm April next meeting.

NEW BIDNESS:

Dave Baudo from the School Wish Foundation spoke to the Council about his organization and how our Club may be able to participate. Council will discuss further.

FLORIDAZE AND PHLOCKING DATE CONFLICT:
Mary Libbey brought to the Council’s attention that Floridaze starts on the night of our Phlocking. Council agreed to keep the date as is.

CORPORATE 5K RUN:
Jeff Dubey reported that the date for this event is April 15th. We will need volunteers for this. We are only running one beer truck this year.

Jim Thomas made a motion to adjourn the meeting and it was seconded by Colene Clark and the meeting was adjourned at 8:41pm.
