Old Bidness

  • Annual Summer Picnic Recap:
    • Nancy Simon won the Kayak
    • Terry submitted receipts for expenses for the Summer Picnic, expecting to receive full reimbursement based on a vote from the previous Month’s (July) Council Meeting
      • As Recorded in July’s minutes: “Terry Clark (Chair) requests $400.00 reimbursement to cover costs of event”
        • Two officers then shared a discrepancy in their understanding of the motion, which was that: “The club would only reimburse for the picnic if the proceeds from the Kayak Raffle didn’t cover the PHCF share of cost.”
    • At this point, Megan motioned to reopen (Debbie seconded) the motion from last month and discuss/reclarify the payments & reimbursement of the Kayak Picnic.
    • Terry made a motion to get reimbursed for the $400, and that the Club donate the entire net profit of $470 from the Kayak Raffle to Save the Manatees. Megan seconded.
      • Lengthy discussion continued as the board was trying to clarify what was still owed from the Space Coast club, and therefore what would bring Terry whole to get him reimbursed.
    • Terry became frustrated with the continued suggestion that the proceeds should go towards the expenses of the event, rather than to the sponsored charity, and decided to withdraw his motion and stated “I donate to the Club all expenses that I have incurred on behalf of PHCF. As such, any remaining expenses previously allocated to the Space Coast Parrothead Club are satisfied. The Raffle proceeds will be donated to Save the Manatees.”
    • After Terry left (Megan/Ray) reopened Terry’s motion (And clarified to satisfy requests of all officers still present)
      • A) Space coast will pay ½ of the total expenses (still owes $107.67) to PHCF, and the Club (PHCF) reimburse Terry up to $400.00, (after all receipts have been provided to the treasury), and give the entire net Kayak Raffle proceeds to the Save the Manatees.
