Council of Pheathers Meeting

IN ATTENDANCE:
President Lisa Schott, Vice President Bruce Broulik, Treasurer Suzanne Templin, Keeper of the Phlock Tammy Esser, Communications Occifer Mary Libbey, Membership Occifer Amy Buchanan, Member Advocates Joe DiLuzio and Paul Fraas, Gail Rodehover, Terry Clark, Gary Einstein

CALL TO ORDER:
President Lisa Schott called the meeting to order at 7:04pm.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:
No report as Laurie Ramsteck was not present.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Suzanne Templin reported that we have $4,416.79 in our overall account. Joe DiLuzio suggested that the club donate $250 to the March of Dimes Mud Volleyball. Tammy Esser made a motion to accept Joe’s suggestion and it was seconded by Mary Libbey and the motion was passed unanimously. The treasurer’s report was also approved.

MEMBERSHIP OCCIFER’S REPORT:
Amy Buchanan reported that we have 19 new members since last report (17 adults and 2 keets). There were 73 attendees at the July Phlocking. Amy asked for more virgin leis. Joe DiLuzio asked how large our club is with respect to others. Lisa stated that we are in the top 25 in the country and the Villages has the largest membership in Florida. Tammy made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Suzanne and the motion was passed unanimously.

KEEPER OF THE PHLOCK REPORT:
The Second Saturday Social held recently had 39 attendees. Amy was concerned about the parking situation at Legends with respect to personal safety. Capt Josh will be the entertainment for the September Phlocking. Amy made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Mary and the motion was passed unanimously.

COMMUNICATIONS OCCIFER’S REPORT:
Mary reported that the new club website is still under construction. She needs photos of the occifers and member advocates for the site. It was decided to send out a request to the club membership asking for a volunteer to take photos of the members for the website. Amy made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Tammy and the motion was passed unanimously.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Bruce Broulik reported that he had around 15 volunteers so far for the Give Kids the World Beach Bash event on August 28th. A second e-mail will be sent out to the club asking to RSVP to Bruce. Mary made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Suzanne and the motion was passed unanimously.

EXECUTIVE OCCIFER’S REPORT:
No report as Jacky Dorsey was not present.

MEMBER ADVOCATES REPORT:
No issues to report this month

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Lisa Schott reported that a new member “Big Dog” is sponsoring a charity comedy event at Legends on Saturday 27 August to benefit Alzheimer’s Disease. Amy Buchanan made a motion to accept the report and it was seconded by Mary and the motion was passed unanimously.

OLD BIDNESS:

CHRISTMAS PARTY UPDATE:
Tammy stated she will be meeting at the VFW for the food situation. Ticket prices will be set by the next council meeting. Music will be provided by Charley D and the Things.

BOWLING NIGHT:
Tammy reported that it will be 23 October, starting at 5 PM at the usual place. Shoes, games and beer will be $1 each. The club picnic will be at Kelly Park on October 16th.

MUD VOLLEYBALL UPDATE:
Lisa reported there are three Parrot Head teams to be participating along with many PH volunteers.

NEW BIDNESS:

UPDATED PHCF WEB SITE
Already discussed in the Communication Occifer’s report.

4Th ANNUAL FRUITCAKES IN THE ALLEY:
Lisa reported that it will be held 27-29 January 2012. Music will include Capt Josh, Jimmy Parrish, Jimi Pappas and possibly Jim Morris.

OTHER:
Mary will be providing scratch-off tickets for the Jingle Bell run. Gary Einstein will set up a Second Saturday Social for 24 September at Legends.

Mary Libbey made a motion for the meeting to adjourn and it was seconded by Amy Buchanan and the meeting adjourned at 8:35pm.
